He held 1/3 manors of Little Linford and Newport Pagnell, reversion to Maurice son of Maurice de Berkeley, knight , a minor in the king's wardship, by a fine of mor. Ascension 1386 [not found] between Roger Campeden, clerk , John Hyde, clerk , and Edward de Acton , quer., and Hugh Burnell and his wife Joyce, def., by which Roger etc. granted that the reversion of the manors, which Thomas de Harecourt, knight , and his wife Maud held for Maud's life, should revert to Hugh and Joyce. Maud died, and Hugh and Joyce entered and were seised. Annual values, 1/3 manor of Little Linford, 33s. 4d., 1/3 manor of Newport Pagnell £6 13s. 4d. Both manors are held of the king in chief by knight service.
Joyce predeceased Hugh, who died on 27 Nov. last. Maurice son of Maurice de Berkeley is Joyce's kinsman and next heir, i.e. son of Maurice son of Katharine sister of John father of Joyce, aged 19 years and more at the time of Hugh's death.
