He died on 7 May last. Walter Rodeney is his son and next heir, aged 5 years and no more.

John Rodenay, knight , grandfather of John Rodenay named in the writ, that is father of Walter father of the same John, and John Lupyate, formerly parson of Backwell , clerk , were seised in their demesne as of fee of the manors of Twerton , Dinder and Claverham and of 12 messuages, 3 tofts, ?2 …, 30a. meadow, 20a. pasture in Draycott and by their writing sealed with their seals, shown to the jurors, dated 2 September... [... Ric II] granted a yearly rent of £20 out of the said manors and all their lands in Draycott … [?within the vill] of Cheddar , payable at Easter and Michaelmas by equal portions, to Robert Cheddre , William Cheddre senior , Roger Seward and William Drapere , clerk s, their heirs and assigns forever, with power to distrain. John Lupyate died. After the deaths of his grandfather John and father Walter John Rodenay named in the writ was seised in his demesne as of fee of 2/3 of the manors and lands, subject to the rent charged on them. He held the 2/3 manors of Twerton and Claverham of Richard, earl of Worcester , of his honour of Gloucester, by knight service, annual value £10, and the 2/3 manor of Dinder and lands in Draycott of the bishop of Bath and Wells , service unknown, annual value of the 2/3 manor 100s., of the 2/3 lands 60s. He held in his demesne as of fee: 2/3 manor of Rodney Stoke with the advowson of the church, of Richard Beauchamp, earl of Worcester , as of his honour of Gloucester by knight service, annual value 10 marks. 2/3 manor of Saltford with the advowson of the church, namely two presentations of three, of Richard, earl of Worcester , as of his honour of Gloucester by knight service, annual value …. 2/3 6 messuages in Wells , of Nicholas, bishop of Bath and Welles , service unknown, annual value 13s. 4d. John Rodenay the grandfather and John Lupyate were seised in their demesne as of fee of a messuage with curtilage and garden adjacent, 8 cottages with their curtilages, 3 tofts, 1 ½ carucates, 20 a. meadow and 40 a. pasture in the manors of Congresbury , Rolstone and Winscombe within the hundred of Winterstoke , the manor of Lovington , 20a. meadow and 40a. pasture in Cheddar ?called ‘Netherhodach’, and also of the whole of their manor of Hallatrow and of 1/2 water mill,.. a. meadow and 20a. pasture in Hallatrow, High Littleton , Clutton , Cholwell , Temple Cloud and Cameley and by their charter sealed with their seals, shown to the jurors, dated 2 September 1378, they granted them, by the name of all their lands in the manors of Congresbury, Rolstone and Winscombe within the hundred of Winterstoke, the manor of Lovington and all that meadow and pasture called ‘Nytherhodach’ [v clear] within the manor of Cheddar, all [their manor of] of Hallatrow and all their lands etc in Hallatrow, High Littleton, Clutton, Cholwell, Temple Cloud and Cameley, to Robert Cheddre , William Cheddre senior , Roger Seward and William Drapere , clerk s, their heirs and assigns forever, with warranty clause. John Rodenay the grandfather and John Lupyate by a writing sealed with their seals and shown to the jurors dated 10 September … released and quitclaimed to Robert Cheddre , William Cheddre senior , Roger Seward and William Drapere all their interest etc in all the lands and John Rodenay the grandfather gave a warranty for title for him and his heirs. Robert Cheddre, William Cheddre and William Drapere died. Roger Seward died solely seised on 8 May 1411.
Roger Seward son of Roger Seward deceased is his next heir, aged 40 years and more, to whom all the lands descended and ought by right to descend. Date of death and next heir general as in 616 (but 'aged 5 years and more').
