His father John Holt, knight, by an indenture dated 16 Nov. 1402 demised for life to Joan wife of Master John Fraunces , keeper of the inn, a messuage in Southwark called the inn `del Aungell sur le Hoop' for £3 yearly at Easter and Michaelmas in equal portions, and Hugh died seised of the reversion. The inn is held of the prior of St. Mary Overy, Southwark , by fealty, suit at his three-weekly court at Southwark and 16s. at the usual terms in equal portions.
He died on 1 May last. Richard Holt, clerk , is his brother and next heir, aged 37 years and more.
