Addressed to the escheator in Somerset and Dorset.

Holdings

She was seised in her demesne as of fee of the manor of Buckshaw and by a charter sealed with a seal of arms and dated at Langton Long Blandford 24 Jan. 1403 and shown to the jurors in evidence, as Avice widow of Stephen Derby, knight , granted the manor to Robert Colyngborn, chaplain , John Fauntleroy junior and John Langeforde , who were seised by virtue of the grant. On 12 Jan. 1404 John Fauntleroy junior by his writing shown to the jurors released his right to Robert and John. By their charter dated at Langton Long Blandford 31 March 1404 Robert and John granted the manor to Avice widow of Stephen Derby, knight , Humphrey Stafford, knight , Master John Chaundeler,clerk , John Tydelyng, clerk , Master Thomas Tynkeldene, clerk , Thomas Maundevyle, clerk , John Savage , John Sparwe and Richard Bradeway to hold to them and the heirs and assigns of Avice. John Savage , Humphrey Stafford and Thomas Tynkeldene died and Avice remained seised with Master John Chaundeler , John Tydelyng , Thomas Maundevyle , John Sparwe and Richard Bradeway , all of whom survive.

Buckshaw. The manor is held of the earl of Salisbury for 1/2 knight's fee, annual value £10.

She died on 18 April last. Robert Derby son and heir of Stephen Derby is also her son and next heir, aged 30 years and more.

She held in her demesne as of fee the manor of Langton Long Blandford with the advowson of the church of the king in socage by service of rendering yearly 1d. at Easter for all services by the sheriff to the king at the Exchequer.

There are in the manor 8 messuages each worth nothing yearly above expenses, a close called `le greteconyngere' containing 3 a. arable worth 6d. an acre yearly, 241 a. arable worth 4d. an acre yearly, 24 a. meadow worth 12d. an acre and 150 a. hill pasture worth 1d. an acre.
The advowson is worth nothing.
She also held in her demesne as of fee
of the earl of March by knight service the manor of Langton Latile, annual value 100s., and the manor of Rollington, annual value 60s.;
of [ John] de Sancto Claro , under age and in the king's wardship, by service of rendering yearly a measure of pepper at Michaelmas for all services, a messuage, a carucate, 16 a. meadow, 16 a. marsh and 100 a. pasture in Littleton with the advowson, annual value 64s. 0 1/2d.;
of the the king as of his duchy of Lancaster a close in Blandford Forum in free burgage by service of rendering 10d. yearly at Martinmas for all services, annual value 4d.;
of the king of his duchy [of Lancaster] in free burgage 2 burgages, worth 2s.... yearly, 7 cottages, each worth 6d. yearly, 4 shambles, each worth... yearly, and a close, worth 1d. yearly, by service of rendering to the king yearly at Martinmas 5d. for one burgage and 10d. for the other which John Sparwe holds, 1d. each for two of the cottages, 4d. for two others which John Mortymer holds, 2d. for another cottage which Alice Trubbe holds, 1d. for another which William Houles holds, 2d. for another which Edith Edwards holds, 6d. for one of the shambles which William Steer holds, 6d. for another which Bennett Boucher holds, 6d. for another which Robert Boucher holds, ?6d. for another which John Turpeny holds, and 5d. for the close which Christine Glover holds.
She also
held of the king of his duchy a messuage and a garden, worth nothing yearly, 2 1/2 a. arable, worth 18d. yearly, and 1 1/2 a. meadow, worth... yearly, in Blandford Forum rendering 3 1/2d. at Martinmas.
She also held in her demesne as of fee
2 messuages, a carucate, 7 a. meadow and 12 a. pasture in Blandford St Mary by grant of John atte Forde and Philip Iryssh to her and Stephen Derby, knight , formerly her husband, and to the heirs of Stephen of the abbess of Shaftesbury by fealty and 20s. rent yearly for all service, annual value 40s.
