Holdings

He was seised in his demesne as of fee tail jointly with his wife Agnes by grant of Richard de la Bere, knight , Hugh Chabenore , who survives, Richard Luggere and William Crowland , deceased, as appears by a deed shown to the jurors, in 2/3 manors of Aston in Herefordshire and Stanage in the march of Wales, with reversion of the 1/3s which Agnes, widow of Lewis's father Peter de Cornewayle , holds in dower. They were seised by a charter shown to jurors by which Lewis and Agnes granted the 2/3 and the reversion of the 1/3s to Thomas Wallewayn , Hugh Mawene , deceased, Richard de la Bere, knight , and Edmund Morys , who survive. So seised, Thomas, Hugh, Richard and Edmund enfeoffed John de la Bere , William Byryton , Thomas Lygon and Roger Atkyns , who were still seised on the day of the taking of this inquisition.

The manor of Aston is held by knight service of Edmund, earl of March , annual value of the entire manor £20.
The manor of Stanage is held of Richard Cornewayle, lord of Stapleton , service unknown, annual value of the entire manor 10 marks.

He died in France on 30 Nov. last. Edmund Cornewaill is his son and next heir, aged 10 years and more.

Jurors: William Roche of Walkerith ; Thomas Stokyth of Blyton ; Richard Parteney of Northorpe ; Thomas Sauneby of the same; Hugh Skynner of Corringham ; Roger Smyth of the same; Roger Euerard of Laughton ; John Draper of the same; William Garard of the same; Richard Raynold of Blyton ; William Lamkyn of the same; and Thomas Brounflete of Gainsborough .

Holdings

He was seised of the manors of Thonock and Laughton and in lands, tenements, reversions and services in Kexby, Upton, Walkerith, Stockwith, Willingham, Corringham, Blyton, Northorpe and Scotton and by his charter shown to the jurors dated at Gainsborough 6 May 1405, by the name of Lewis Cornewayle son and heir of Peter de Cornewayle , granted them to Richard de la Beere , Hugh Chabbenore , John de Somerford, chaplain , and William Crowland . John and William died and Roger and Hugh survived and held

the manor of Thonock with lands and tenements in Willingham and Upton of the king of the duchy of Lancaster by service of 30s. yearly.
The manor of Laughton and the lands in Northorpe and Scotton are held of Walter Pedewardyn, knight , by knight service.
The lands in Kexby are held of Norman Oliver by two suits at his court.
The lands in Walkerith, Stockwith, Corringham and Blyton are held of the soke of Kirton in socage.
Annual value of the manors, lands, tenements, rents, reversions and services £30. He was seised in fee tail of
8 messuages, 3 bovates and a windmill in Gainsborough, annual value 16s. 8d.;
6 a. meadow in the same town, annual value 10s.,
held of Henry Percy of Atholl, knight , in free burgage by service of 13s. yearly and suit at the three-weekly court at Gainsborough;
4 cottages in `Apiton', annual value nil;
1/2 bovate in Morton, annual value 40d.; and
6 a. meadow in Morton, annual value 18d.
The cottages, land and meadow are held of the soke of Kirton in free socage. The manors of Thonock and Laughton and all the lands, tenements, rents, reversions and services are charged with a yearly rent of £20 to the chantry at Gainsborough founded with the king's licence [10 June 1373: CPR 1370-4, pp. 295-6] by Edmund de Cornewayll, knight , to support three chaplains to celebrate mass there in perpetuity.
