Holdings

By letters patent [of 13 Nov. 1373: CPR 1370-4, p. 370], shown to the jurors, ‪ Edward III gave the manor of Marden to John Dauntesey, knight , his wife Joan and the heirs of their bodies. They had issue John Dauntesey, knight , and died. Their son John entered and had issue Walter Dauntesey, knight , named in the writ, and Joan wife of John Stradelyng, knight . Walter entered on his father's death and died without issue.

Marden. The manor is held of the king in socage for the rent of a rose at the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, annual value £20.

He died on 26 Aug. last. Joan wife of John Stradlyng, knight , is his sister and next heir, aged 25 years and more.
