Holdings

Owing to the death of Mary wife of Thomas Holgill and the death of her son William a tenement called `Wodehall' in Finchingfield and Great Sampford and a tenement called `Croucheman's' in Hempstead, held by knight service of Richard son and heir of Aubrey de Veer, late earl of Oxford , came into the hand of ‪ Henry IV and remain in the king's hand owing to the minority of Richard. They are held of John , son and heir of Richard, annual value 48s. 8d.
William also held in his demesne as of fee 37 a. arable, 3 a. meadow and 1 a. wood, annual value 20s., in Little Radwinter of John Oldecastell, knight, of Cooling in Kent, of his manor of Radwinter, by a rent of 12 barbed arrows or 6d., by deed of Martin Chamberlain, late lord of that manor, to Gregory, son of Andrew de Mildehale , ancestor of William Wynselowe.
John Oldecastell held that manor and took the profits until 24 Jan. 1414 when he forfeited it. For the whole of William's life afterwards he held the premises of Hugh Luterell, knight , John Clerk, clerk , and John Martyn by their demise to John Oldecastell. Owing to the forfeiture of John Oldecastell the custody of the 37 a., 3 a. and 1 a. belongs to the king by reason of the minority of Joan daughter of William, together with her wardship and marriage.

William Wynselowe died on 31 Aug. 1415. Joan his daughter was aged 6 years on 11 June last.
