The jurors say that he was born at Burpham and baptized in St. Mary's church, Worplesdon, on 31 Oct. 1392 and is now aged 24 years and more. They remember for the following reasons: Thomas Gen , aged 66 years and more, held a wax candle during the baptism. Richard Bedon , 56 years and more, held another candle. John Brentyngham , 66 years and more, rode with Thomas's godfather, Thomas Brokays , deceased, to Worplesdon church and saw Thomas baptized. William Frollebury , 60 years and more, held a wax candle at the font during the baptism. William Tyngewyk , 62 years and more, carried a ewer and basin from Burpham to the church. Thomas Fynmore , 59 years and more, rode with Richard Bested, esquire, deceased, from Burpham to the church and saw Thomas baptized. John Cros, junior , 56 years and more, says that unknown thieves stole his horse at Burpham. Richard Tangle , 62 years and more, carried 6 capons to the manor of Burpham and presented them to Thomas's mother Joan. Richard Shrovebury , 58 years and more, carried a pair of bottles containing a gallon of sweet wine to the manor of Burpham. Richard Stynt , 52 years and more, carried a large `cake' from the manor of Burpham to the church, where it was eaten by Thomas's godfathers, godmother, and others. Richard Grevet , 60 years and more, says that while on his way to the church he fell and broke open his knee. Thomas Andrewe , 63 years and more, says that his greyhound killed two of his sheep outside the churchyard, worth 40d.
