Holdings
By a fine of 1380 made with the king’s licence [CP 25/1/289/52, no. 34; CPR 1377–81, p.445] Henry earl of Northumberland granted the manors of Tadcaster, Gristhwaite, Asenby and Throxenby to Henry Percy the son, and Elizabeth then his wife, to hold to them and their heirs male. They had issue Henry, now earl of Northumberland , and aged 22 years and more.
Elizabeth, named in the writ, wife of Henry Percy, granted to them and the heirs male of their bodies, with remainder to the earl and his heirs. Henry died; Elizabeth survived and held by virtue of the fine and died seised of such estate.
The manors are all held of the king in chief by knight service, annual values, Tadcaster, £75; Gristhwaite, £11; Asenby, £10; Throxenby, £8.
Elizabeth died on 20 April last.
