Jointly with Anne his wife he held 1 messuage, 80 a. arable, 2 a. meadow, 3 a. pasture and 3s. rent in Great Birch, to them and the heirs of their bodies, remainder to his right heirs by a grant of Henry Stampe , John Wacelyn and John Hokkelee , made with royal licence [CPR 1405–8, p.187]. They are held of the king of the honor of Dover as a 4th part of a knight’s fee, annual value of the messuage and lands 40s. Anne survives him.
He also held in his demesne as of fee 70 a. and 5s. 9 1/2d. rent in Great Birch of the honor of Hagenet by suit of court at the manor of Haughley in Suffolk every 3 weeks, annual value including the rent 23s.4d.; and 1 messuage, 30 a. arable and 4 a. wood in the same place of John Peyton and Richard Baynard , service unknown, annual value 10s.
He died on 1 Jan. last. Robert his son and heir is aged 28 years and more.
