The "About" pages of this site provide brief introductions to the inquisitions post mortem and to this edition. This section provides more detailed information about the legal and adminstrative background to the documents, and how they have been used by historians. (Some of these pages were originally posted as 'featured inquisitions' on the project blog.) There is also a glossary.
