She died, and after her death William was seised in demesne as of fee tail by form of the grant. He had issue: Thomas Bardolf , and died. Afterwards by other letters patent [CPR 1408–13, pp. 95–6], shown to the jurors, he granted the remainder of the manor, among other things, to William Clyfford , ‘chyvaler’, Anne his wife, William Philip and Joan his wife, named in the writ, and the heirs of the bodies of Anne and Joan. Afterwards the queen died. After her death William, Anne, William, and Joan entered the manor by virtue of the letters patent. They continued their estate for their whole lives. William Clyfford , William Philip , and Joan died thus seised. Anne survived them and held the manor by right of survivorship, and is solely seised in the above form by virtue of the letters patent. Birling, the manor, annual value 20 marks, held of the king , of the duchy of Lancaster, service unknown. ‪ Henry IV was seised of the following in demesne as of fee. By letters patent [cf. CPR 1405–8, p. 442], shown to the jurors, he granted the manors to William Bardolf , ‘chyvaler’, for the term of his life. Afterwards by other letters patent [CPR 1405–8, pp. 448–9], shown to the jurors, among other things he granted the reversion of the manors to the above William Clyfford , Anne, William Philip , and Joan, for the term of their lives, and the heirs of their bodies. Afterwards William Bardolf died. William Clyfford , Anne, William Philip , and Joan entered the manors by virtue of the letters patent and continued their estate for the lives of William, William, and Joan. William Clyfford , William Philip , and Joan died thus seised. Anne survived them and held the manors by right of survivorship. She is still solely seised by virtue of the letters patent. Plumpton, the manor, annual value 20 marks; and Barcombe, the manor, annual value 20 marks, held of the king in chief, service unknown.
