John Arundell, knight , was seised of the following – described as the manors listed below, and 60 messuages and 50 [sic] ferlings of land in the vills listed below – in demesne as of fee, together with all the rents, services, reversions, and knights’ fees of all the tenants who held of him severally therein. By charter shown to the jurors he granted the same to Thomas Arundell, knight , John Herle, knight , and Thomas Harry, clerk , now deceased, and [ John Tresythny , named in the writ], now deceased, and the heirs of the body of Thomas Arundell . In the charter the premises were described as his manors of Tolverne, Prospidnick, Bodbrane, Reperry, and Pengwedna, and all his messuages, lands, and tenements, and rents, services, reversions, and knight’s fees of all the tenants who held of him severally in the vills named below. Tolverne, the manor, held of Edmund, bishop of Exeter , of his manor of Tregaire, in socage. In the manor there are 20 messuages, each worth nothing yearly; 60 ferlings of land, each worth 2s. 6d. yearly; a dovecot, worth 12d. yearly; and 100 a. wood, of which the pasture and pannage are worth nothing yearly. The following pertain to the manor: the advowson of the church of St Just in Roseland, worth nothing yearly; and a ferry (passagium), worth 2s. 6d. yearly. Prospidnick, the manor, held of Edmund, bishop of Exeter , of his manor of Tregaire [service not specified]. In the manor there are 12 messuages, each worth nothing yearly; 24 ferlings of land, each worth 20d. yearly; and 12 a. wood, worth nothing yearly. Bodbrane, the manor, held of the king, of [the duchy of Cornwall], of the manor of Liskeard, in socage. He died on 1 September 1445. John Arundell is the son and next heir of Thomas Arundell, knight , and was aged ?18 and more at the death of John Tresythny. [Head:] [Returned to] the court of Chancery on 22 February 1446 by John ?Hoppyng.
