William, John, John, Katherine, and Henry were seised in demesne as of fee, and John died seised of such estate and no other, jointly with Katherine and Henry. Patmore, the manor, true annual value £10, held of the bishop of London , service unknown. Long before his death, he was seised of the following in demesne as of fee, which he granted, by charter shown to the jurors, to Henry Langeley , Ralph Grey , and Thomas Huwson, clerk , and their heirs and assigns. John had lately acquired to himself and his heirs and assigns the land in Albury, Little Hadham, and Much Hadham. The tenants of the manors attorned themselves to Henry, Ralph, and Thomas. The feoffment was made with the intent that Henry and the others should grant lands and tenements, parcel of the manor of Albury, to the yearly value of 40 marks, to Henry Barley – son and heir apparent of John – and Katherine his wife, and the heirs of the body of Henry. Accordingly Henry Langeley and the others, by indented charter shown to the jurors, made such a grant of various lands, meadows, pastures, rents, and services, parcel of the manor. Henry Barley was seised in demesne as of fee tail and Katherine in demesne as of free tenement. Albury, the manor, true annual value 50 marks, held of the bishop of London , service unknown. Cockhamstead, the manor, annual value 40s., held of the prior of Anglesey , service unknown. Albury, Little Hadham, and Much Hadham, 40 a. land [value, tenure, and service not specified].
