The following came into the king’s hand by reason of his minority, and remain there. Washingley, a toft, 40 a. arable, 4 a. meadow, and 6 a. wood, held of the king in chief as 1/100 knight’s fee and by paying 20s. delivered by the sheriff, and of no annual value beyond the rent; 20 a. land, 16 a. meadow, 20 a. wood, and 10 a. pasture, held of the king in socage by paying 18s. at Michaelmas, and of no annual value beyond the rent. Washingley, the manor, and the advowson of the church of the vill, held of Humphrey, duke of Buckingham , of the fee of Lovetot, as ½ knight’s fee. In the manor there are 124 a. arable, each acre of 24 a. worth 2d. yearly, while the remaining 100 a. lie fallow (frisce) and are worth nothing yearly; 16 a. pasture, each acre worth 1d. yearly; 6 a. wood, each acre worth 8d. yearly; various free tenants, who between them pay 12s. at Easter and Michaelmas; rent of 1 capon, worth 3d. yearly; rent of 1 lb. cumin, worth 1d. yearly; 9 cottages, worth nothing yearly; and a court baron, held twice a year, worth nothing yearly beyond the expenses of the steward.
He died on 1 January last. John Drue is his brother and next heir, and was 17 on 17 October last. [Head:] Delivered to court on 21 May 1446.
