Rutland, the keeping of the forest, with ‘wyndfallyn wode’, ‘derefallyn wode’, cablishes, ‘wodsylver’, ‘heggyngsylver’, attachments of foresters, estreats and profits of swanimotes, chiminage, and appointing and removing all the foresters at will. The forest is held of the king in chief [service not specified], and is worth 17 marks yearly. Braunston-in-Rutland, the manor, annual value 12 marks, held of Humphrey, duke of Buckingham , of his castle of Oakham, by knight service.

Long before her death she, Richard Baker, chaplain , and Robert Luffenham granted the following by indenture to Robert Chesilden – son of Anne and Robert Chesilden, esquire, her late husband – and the heirs male of his body. The indenture, shown to the jurors, was dated at Burrough on the Hill, ?23 March 1444. Monday after St Edward martyr, 22 Henry VI . Robert was seised by virtue of the grant. Burrough on the Hill, 2 messuages, 3 cottages, a croft, 5½ virgates of land, 6 a. land and meadow [value, tenure, and service not specified], and 2s. free rent; and Somerby, 18s. free rent; and the reversion of 4 messuages, a cottage, 4 virgates of land and meadow, and a croft [value, tenure, and service not specified], which John Dansey and Margery his wife hold for the term of Margery’s life. John and Margery attorned themselves to Robert in Anne’s lifetime. Long before her death, she and the above Richard Baker and Robert Luffenham granted the following among other things by indenture to John Chesilden, junior , son of Anne and Robert her late husband, and the heirs male of his body. The indenture, shown to the jurors, was dated at Thorpe Satchville, ?23 March 1444. Monday after St Edward martyr, 22 Henry VI. John was seised by virtue of the grant.
