He held the following to him and the heirs male of his body. Broughton, the manor, with the advowson of the church; true annual value of the site and houses of the manor with the vivaries, park, closes, and meadows adjoining and pertaining to the site, £4; and North Newington, the manor, annual value of the site and houses of the manor, with the closes and meadows adjoining and pertaining to the site, 50s; both manors held of the king in chief, of the duchy of Lancaster, service unknown. In these manors there are free and neif tenants of various lands and tenements who pay £24 yearly at Christmas, Lady Day, Midsummer and Michaelmas; 530 a. land, estimated value £18 this year, demised of old to various tenants for 90 quarters of maslin and 90 quarters of dredge payable at the same terms, and for 30 cart-loads of straw a year worth 20s.; various holdings held by the service of 30 capons, payable at Michaelmas only, worth 5s. yearly; two free tenants who hold severally two free holdings by 2 lb. pepper, worth this year 18d.; two free tenants who render 2 lb. cumin, worth this year 6d.; a free tenant who renders a barbed arrow worth 4d.; and a free tenant who renders a grain of wheat. These free tenants hold by homage and fealty and suit of court every three weeks, which have not been extended.
He died on 18 October 1443. William Wykeham, esquire , is his next male heir, aged 40 and more.The jurors do not know of any lands or tenements he held except for the above.

Jurors: Thomas Wykeham of Swalcliffe; Thomas Mason of Neithrop; William Shutford of Cropredy; Richard Harpour ; John Blakwell ; John Persones , ‘baker’; John Danvers of Wardington; John Large ; Thomas Bloxham ; John Vaus ; Richard Plomer ; Thomas Hampton ; Maurice Baker ; and Richard Outelawe .
Robert Danvers and John Waget held of the king the manor and hundred of Bloxham, and the view of frankpledge there, annual value £60, service unknown. After obtaining royal licence [CPR 1436–41, p. 514] they granted these to Thomas, for the term of his life and for twenty further years, with the following remainders after those terms: to Thomas’s son and heir William Wykeham , and the heirs male of his body; to William’s brother Thomas Wykeham , and the heirs male of his body; and to the heirs of the body of Thomas Wykeham, knight . This appears by a fine made in the king’s court at Westminster in the octave of the Purification and afterwards in the octave of Michaelmas, 1441 [CP 25/1/191/28/89]. Afterwards Thomas Wykeham, knight, granted the term of twenty years, by indenture shown to the jurors, to Ralph Boteler knight, lord Sudeley , John Vampage , Drew Barentyn , William Brocas , William Warbulton , William Gifforde of Leckhampton, John Danvers , Robert Danvers , John Waget , Richard Wynbusshe , John Clerk, clerk , Thomas Brook, clerk , John Estby, clerk , John Tysho , and Simon Herdewyke . John Estby , William Breton , and John Kent , clerks, Richard Quatermaynes , Drew Barentyn , John Danvers , and Thomas Harryes held the manor of Adderbury, once called ‘Seyntamandes maner’ in Adderbury and Milton. After obtaining royal licence [CPR 1436–41, p. 347], they demised the manor by indenture shown to the jurors to Thomas Wykeham, knight , for the term of his life only, paying to them £10 at Christmas, Lady Day, Midsummer and Michaelmas, with a clause of entry in event of non-payment of the rent three months after any term. Thomas died seised of such estate and no other. The manor [value not specified] is held of the king as ½ knight’s fee.
