He was seised of the following in demesne as of fee. Drayton, the manor, held of the king in chief by paying 6s. 8d. each year at Michaelmas, delivered by the constable of Portchester castle, and by finding a ‘hobelar’ for the safekeeping of the castle in time of war for fifteen days at his own cost. In the manor there is a site, worth nothing yearly; 149 a. arable, each acre worth 4d. yearly; 20s. assize rent from free tenants; 6 a. wood, worth 12d. yearly; and pasture worth 10s. 3d. yearly. Perryland, the manor, held of the king , of his castle of Portchester, by suit once a year to the court at the castle. The manor consists of a site, worth nothing yearly; a dovecot, worth 2s. yearly; 84 a. arable, each acre worth 3d. yearly; 13 a. meadow, each acre worth 20d. yearly; 40 a. pasture, each acre worth 4d. yearly; 20 a. wood, each acre worth 2d. yearly; and 20s. assize rent payable by various free tenants at Lady Day, Midsummer, Michaelmas and Christmas. Bere Forest (le Bere), near Southwick, a messuage, a carucate of land, 13 a. meadow, 40 a. pasture, and 20 a. wood, annual value 26s. 8d., held of the king by paying 7s. 4d. each year at Michaelmas, delivered by the constable of Portchester castle.
He died on 21 October last. Geoffrey Borrard of the Isle of Wight is his kin and next heir, as the son of Parnel, the daughter of Laurence, the father of John Pagham , the father of John Pagham , the father of William Pagham , the father of the said Philip. He is aged 60 and more.

By virtue of the writ attached to the inquisition, the escheator ordered the sheriff to summon 24 men to be at Alton on 19 March 1444. The above jurors were then sworn to inquire concerning the articles contained in the writ. Because they did not agree a verdict and were not fully instructed, the escheator ordered them to be at Winchester on 6 April when they found as follows. He held the following in demesne as of fee tail in addition to the lands and tenements specified in 57. A fine [CP 25/1/206/25/60] was raised concerning the moiety in the king’s court at Westminster in the quindene of Hilary, 1355, between master John de Lecche , clerk , querent, and John de Fulcordby and Margery his wife, deforciants. John and Margary acknowledged the moiety to be the right of master John, as that which he had by their grant; for which master John granted the moiety to John and Margery, for the whole of Margery’s life, with remainder to the heirs of her body; and with successive remainders to John, son of William de Stonwell, parson of the church of Crondall ; to John – son and heir of Laurence de Pagham, knight – and Joan his wife, and the heirs of their bodies; to John Bryan and Parnel his wife, and the heirs of the body of Parnel; and to Roger de Colreth and his heirs. John de Fulcordby is dead, and Margery his wife is dead without heir of her body. John son of William de Stonwell is dead, as are John Bryan and Parnel his wife, the latter without heirs of her body. John, son and heir of Laurence de Pagham , and Joan his wife were seised by virtue of the entail and died seised. They had issue: John, who entered after their deaths by virtue of the entail and died seised. He had issue: William, who entered after his father’s death, and died seised. He had issue: Philip named in the writ, who entered the moiety after William’s death as his son and heir by virtue of the above entail, and died seised without heir of his body. ‘Badley’, ½ manor, not held of the king . In the moiety there is a site where buildings were once constructed, worth nothing yearly because completely occupied by thorns and trees; 205 a. arable, each acre worth 2d. yearly; 25 a. pasture, each acre worth 1d. yearly; 6 a. meadow, each acre worth 16d. yearly; 10 a. wood, worth 10d. yearly; and 29s. assize rent payable by various tenants at Easter, Midsummer, Michaelmas and Christmas.
He died without issue on 21 October 1442. Roger de Colreth is dead, and his kin and next heir is Christine, wife of Richard Holte , as the daughter of Thomas, the son of Roger. She is aged 50 and more.
Richard Quatremayns took the issues from Philip’s death and still receives them, by what title or how the jurors do not know. [Head:] Delivered to court on 2 May 1444.
