Long before his death he was seised in demesne as of fee of the manor of Burford and the hundred of Overs, held of the king in chief by knight service; and of 100s. rent from two messuages and two carucates of land in Leintwardine, held of Richard, duke of York , in chief, service unknown. Thus seised, and having obtained royal licence [CPR 1429–36, p. 596], he granted the above, among other things, excepting 1 a. land in the manor, to Edmund Cornewayll of Burford, William Stokes , Thomas Moghale, clerk , Robert Amondesham , and John Cokkes , and the heirs of the bodies of Edmund and Elizabeth, late his wife, at the time of the grant deceased. In the charter, dated at Burford, 5 November 1436, and shown to the jurors, the premises were described as the manor of Burford, except 1 a. land therein, the hundred of Overs, and all his lands, tenements, rents, and services in Leintwardine. By virtue of the grant John Glydde and Thomas Asshull , then tenants of the messuages and carucates of land, attorned themselves to Edmund, William, Thomas, Robert, and John. By virtue of the grant and attornment Edmund was seised in demesne as of fee tail and the others, who survive, were and are seised in demesne as of free tenement. The manor, excepting 1 a. land, is worth £10 yearly, and the hundred is worth 20s. yearly. He was seised in demesne as of fee of the abovementioned 1 a. land in Burford, annual value 6d., held of the king in chief as 1/200 knight’s fee.

The charter, dated at Burford, 5 November 1436, was shown to the jurors. By virtue of this grant Edmund was seised in demesne as of fee tail in the said form, and William, Thomas, Robert and John, who survive, were seised and still are in demesne as of free tenement. By another charter dated 6 August 1436, shown to the jurors, he granted the ½ manor of Rochford – described as a moiety of the manors of Ham and Rochford – among other things to Edmund Cornewayll of Burford, John Mulys , William Stokes , John Gefford , Thomas Moghale, clerk , Richard Lochard , Robert Amondesham , John Cokkes , and Thomas Benet , who survive [sic], and their heirs and assigns, so that they were and still are seised in demesne as of fee. Stapleton, in the march of Wales, the vill, castle, and lordship, annual value £10, held of the king in chief by knight service. Rochford, ½ manor, annual value 5 marks, held of the lord Clifford in socage by service of a sparrowhawk at the feast of St Peter in Chains.
