He held no lands or tenements in demesne as of fee or service of the king in chief, or any other. A fine was, however, levied at Westminster on the quindene of St John the Baptist 1439 and afterwards granted and recorded on the octave of Michaelmas 1439 [CP 25/1/292/69, no. 231], shown to the jurors, before John Cotismore and his associates, king’s justices, between John Chidyok, knight , and William Combe, querents, and Thomas Brook, knight , John Hody , Ralph Bussh, esquire , John Stork , John Carent, senior , John Battescombe , John Lemman, clerk , William Taverner , Guy Phylyp , and John Pyry, deforciants, regarding the manors of Pitney and Wearne, and 2 messuages, 10 a. land, and 3 a. meadow in Pitney and Wearne, among other lands and tenements. Thomas Brook etc. [as above] recognised the manors and tenements to be the right of John Chidyok, as held by John and William Combe by grant of Thomas Brook etc. [as above]; and John Chidyok and William Combe granted the manors and tenements to Ralph, for life, with reversion to John and William, and the heirs of John. Ralph was thus seised in demesne as of free tenement and died seised of this estate. Pitney, the manor. There is an old hall, worth nothing yearly above repair; a certain place of a garden (locus gardini), worth 12d. yearly; 52 a. arable, each acre worth 4d. yearly; 3 a. meadow, each acre worth 20d. yearly; 14 a. wood, worth nothing yearly above enclosure and custody; 40 a. sheep-pasture, each acre worth 1d. yearly; a dovecot, worth 10s. yearly; £8 6s. 8d. rent from various tenants from lands and tenements held at will, payable at Michaelmas and Easter; and a court baron with view of frankpledge, worth 40d. yearly above the stipend and costs of the steward. Wearne, the manor. There are 68 a. arable, each acre worth 4d. yearly; 5 a. meadow, each acre worth 20d. yearly; and £7 3s. 4d. rent from various tenants from lands and tenements held at will, payable at the said feasts. Pitney and Wearne, 2 messuages, worth nothing yearly above repair; 10 a. land, each acre worth 3d. yearly; and 3 a. meadow, each acre worth 20d. yearly. The manors and tenements are held of the king in chief by knight service.
He died on 11 July last. Robert Westbury is his next heir, as son of Elizabeth daughter of Ralph, and is aged 24 and more.

Antioch, Blakelond, Ramsbury, the manors. They are not held of the king but of whom they are held is unknown. Annual value 100s. Stourton Caundle, Antioch, Blakelond, Ramsbury, Sherborne, Stalbridge, Stalbridge Weston, Oborne, and Thornford, 5 messuages, 248 a. land, and 59 a. meadow. They are not held of the king, nor any parcel thereof, but of whom they are held is unknown. Annual value 100s. Furthermore, a fine was levied at Westminster on the quindene of St John the Baptist 1439 before John Cotismore and his associates, king’s justices of the Bench, and afterwards granted and recorded on the octave of Michaelmas 1439, between John Chidyok, knight, and Katherine his wife, querents, and Thomas Brook, knight , Thomas Beauchamp, knight, John Hody , Ralph Bussh, esquire , John Carent, senior , John Stork , John Battescombe , John Lemman, clerk , William Taverner , Guy Phylyp , and John Pyry, deforciants, regarding the manors of Winterborne Houghton and Upcerne, 3 messuages, 20 a. land, and 6 a. meadow in Winterborne Houghton and Upcerne, and advowsons of the churches of Winterborne Houghton and Upcerne. Thomas Brook etc. [as above] recognised the manors, tenements, and advowsons to be the right of John Chidyok, as held by John and Katherine by grant of Thomas Brook etc. [as above]; and John and Katherine granted them to Ralph for life, to hold of John Chidyok and Katherine, and the heirs of John, by rendering a rose at Midsummer for all service; with remainder to John Carent, junior , and Joan his wife, to hold as above for the life of Joan without impeachment of waste; and with reversion to John Chidyok and Katherine, and the heirs of John. Ralph was thus seised in demesne as of free tenement, and died so seised. Winterborne Houghton, the manor, held of the king in chief by knight service. There is a messuage with a grange, worth nothing yearly; a dovecot, worth 12d. yearly; 20s. assize rent from various tenants-at-will; 140 a. land, each acre worth 2d. yearly; 200 a. hilly, fallow sheep-pasture, each acre worth 1d. yearly; 10 a. meadow, each acre worth 12d. yearly; and 100 a. underwood, each acre worth 12d. yearly. Upcerne, the manor. A moiety is held of Walter Hungerford and Thomas Beaushyn as of the manor of Folke in socage; and the other moiety is held of the bishop of Salisbury as of the manor of Sherborne in socage. Annual value £16.
