                              </holdingItem></holding> The lands and tenements apart from the manor are <rs type="heldOf" subtype="notKing">not held of the king</rs>, but of whom is unknown.</holdingGroup> The manor, lands, and tenements are worth nothing yearly beyond the rent.</holdingGroup>
            
                  <ptr target="#n455"/> By indented charter, dated on <date when="1429-02-06" type="grant">6 February 1429</date>, <name type="person" role="grantor">John</name> and <name type="person" role="grantor">Joan</name> demised them, among other things, to <name type="person" role="grantee">Thomas</name> and his heirs and assigns for <estate type="lifeGrantor">the term of Joan’s life</estate>, rendering £20 13s. 4d. in legal money at <name type="place" key="60090">Banbury</name> to John and Joan equally at the four terms of the year, viz., Lady Day, Midsummer, Michaelmas, and Christmas, with clause of distraint if the rent, or any part thereof, should fall into arrears in part or total by 1/2 year after any of the feasts, in which case it is allowable for John and Joan to re-enter the manor etc. and hold them again in Joan’s dower, as more fully contained in the indenture. The manor etc. were described in the charter as the manor of <name type="manor" key="1377988">Albury</name> and various other lands and tenements in <name type="place" key="225961">Denton</name>, <name type="place" key="445415">Little Baldon</name>, <name type="place" key="318803">Great Milton</name>, <name type="place" key="1508481">Chilworth</name>, and <name type="place" key="636061">Little Rycote</name>, and as all the lands and tenements held by John and Joan for Joan’s life.</grant></estateGroup>

                  <div type="deathHeirs">He died seised of this estate on
                     <date when="1437-08-19" type="death">19 August 1437</date>. <name type="person" role="heir">Agnes</name>, <name type="person" role="heir">Alice</name>, and <name type="person" role="heir">Isabel</name> are his next heirs, and respectively <measure type="age">aged 13</measure>, <measure type="age">6</measure>, and <measure type="age">5</measure> and more.</div>

According to <ref target="CIPM-DOC-22-415">CIPM XXII, no. 415</ref>, <name type="person">William</name>, father of Thomas, held land in <name type="place" key="558269">North Weston</name>, and in <ref target="CIPM-DOC-24-621">CIPM XXIV, no. 621</ref>, Thomas son of William is also recorded as holding land in <name type="place" key="558269">North Weston</name>.</note>
