Thomas, late bishop of Durham , James de Strangways , and William Alyngton were formerly seised of the following manors in demesne as of fee. Thus seised, they demised the manors, among other things, by charter, shown to the jurors, to John Radclyf, knight, described as John Radclyf, knight, steward of Aquitaine , lately constable of Bordeaux, for life, with remainder to Robert Harlyng, knight , son and heir of Cecily, lately wife of John Radclyf, and his heirs. John Radclyf was thus seised in demesne as of free tenement. He continued in this estate for all his life, and died so seised, with reversion to Anne, wife of William Chamberleyn, knight , daughter and heir of Robert Harlyng, knight, because Robert died before John Radclyf. Anne is aged 16 years. Newnham, the manor within the vill of Cambridge, annual value 10 marks, held of the king in burgage as all the vill is held by service of 6d. yearly at Michaelmas for all services. Foxton, the manor, annual value 100s., held of John Typtoft, knight , as of the honour of Richmond, service unknown.

John and Katherine were thus seised in demesne as of fee tail, and John died seised of this estate. Southmere and Docking, the manors, annual value £8, held of the king in chief as a knight’s fee. The same William, Lord Lovell, Burnell, and Holand was lately seised of the following manors in demesne as of fee. It is not held of the king but of the honour of Richmond, service unknown. They afterwards granted it by indented charter, dated on 24 May 1431, shown to the jurors, to John Radclyf, knight , described as John Radclyf, knight, steward of Aquitaine , lately constable of Bordeaux, and the heirs of his body. He was thus seised in demesne as of fee tail, and died seised of this estate. Attleborough, the manor called ‘Mortymers’, true annual value 20 marks. It is not held of the king, but of William, earl of Arundel, service unknown. William, Lord Lovell, Burnell, and Holand was lately seised of the following manor and advowson in demesne as of fee. By his charter dated on 12 July 1440, shown to the jurors, he demised them to John Radclyf, knight, now deceased, and Nicholas Dixon, clerk, Henry Langley , John Leventhorp , and Thomas Radclyf, still living, and their heirs and assigns. They were thus seised in demesne as of fee, and John Radclyf died seised of this estate. Billingford, the manor with advowson of the church there, true annual value of the manor 10 marks, held of the king as of his honour of Hatfield Peverel by service of 6s. 8d. for all services.
