William Frye , Ralph Walysh , John Fauntleroy , Robert Rempston of Godlingston, Robert Colyngbourne, parson of Langton Long Blandford , and William Bret, chaplain , were formerly seised of the manor and advowson of Langton Long Blandford, among other things, in demesne as of fee. By indented charter dated at Langton Long Blandford on 2 May wife of Robert Derby , lately son and heir of Stephen Derby, knight , to hold to Michaela, and the heirs of Robert Derby of the body of Michaela, with successive remainders to Walter, son of Walter Derby , nephew of Robert Derby , and the heirs of his body; to William, brother of Walter son of Walter, and the heirs of his body; to Margaret, named in the writ, described as Margaret, wife of Morgan Gough, sister of Robert Derby, and the heirs of her body; to Thomas, son and heir of Roger Gulden of Sixpenny Handley, kin of Robert Derby, and the heirs of his body; to Joan, sister of Thomas, and the heirs of her body; and to the right heirs of Robert Derby on the side of Avice his mother, lately daughter and heir of Alan Gulden, knight . The manor and advowson were described in the charter as their manor of Langton Long Blandford, the lands, tenements, rents, services, and reversions, and advowson of the church, that they lately held to them and their heirs and assigns by enfeoffment of Robert Derby. Michaela was thus seised of the manor in demesne as of free tenement, and seised of the advowson by right, and she died so seised without heir by Robert Derby. The manor and advowson remained to Walter son of Walter Derby who was seised of the manor in demesne as of fee tail, and seised of the advowson as of fee and by right. William brother of Walter son of Walter died without heir of his body, with Walter son of Walter still living, and Walter, son, continued in his estate for all his life and died so seised without heir of his body. The manor and advowson remained to Margaret and she was seised of the manor in demesne as of fee tail and of the advowson as of fee and by right. She continued in her estate for all her life, and died so seised without heir of her body. The manor and advowson remained to Thomas, still living, and they belong to him by right. Langton Long Blandford, the manor with advowson of the church, held of the king in socage by rendering 1d. yearly at Easter, by the hand of the sheriff, to the king at his Exchequer for all services. There are various houses and buildings, worth nothing yearly above repair; 2s. rent from various free tenants, payable at Easter and Michaelmas equally; 66s. 8d. rent from various tenants-at-will, payable as above; 200 a. arable, each acre worth 1d. yearly; 20 a. meadow, each acre worth 2s. yearly; 500 a. hilly sheep-pasture, each acre worth 1/2d. yearly; and perquisites of court, worth 3s. 4d. yearly above the steward’s fee.

She died on 19 August last. Thomas Gulden is her kin and next heir, viz., son of Roger son of Roger son of Roger brother of Henry father of Alan father of Avice mother of Margaret, and aged 30 and more. [Head:] Delivered to court on 28 September.
