He held no lands or tenements of the king in chief, or any other, in demesne as of fee or in service. By charter, dated on 11 July 1439, shown to the jurors, he granted the manor of Petsoe, with all the other lands and tenements he held in Buckinghamshire, to William Tresham , Robert Isham , and William Owdeby , and their heirs and assigns. William, Robert, and William were thus seised in demesne as of fee, and the manorial tenants attorned to them. They continued in their estate and have taken the issues in the meantime. Petsoe, the manor extending to Petsoe and Emberton, annual value 8 marks. It is not held of the king but of whom it is held is unknown.
He died on 12 July last. William Rokeby is his kin and next heir, and aged 40 and more.

He held no lands or tenements of the king in chief, or any other, in demesne as of fee or in service. A certain Richard Chamberleyn, knight , was formerly seised in demesne as of fee of the manor of Stanbridge and, by charter dated at Stanbridge on 1 November 1379, shown to the jurors, he granted it to his son, Richard Chamberleyn , and Margaret wife of Richard, and the heirs of their bodies. Richard and Margaret were thus seised in demesne as of fee tail, and they had issue: Richard Chamberleyn . They died and the manor descended to Richard as their son and heir. He married a certain Elizabeth, and they had issue: Richard, named in the writ. Elizabeth afterwards died, and Richard her former husband, son of Richard and Margeret, married a certain Margaret. They had issue: William. Richard, son of Richard and Margaret, then died seised of the manor as of fee tail and it descended to Richard, named in the writ. He died seised as of fee tail of 2 parts of the manor and, after his death, the 2 parts descended to William, his brother and heir, because Richard died without issue. The third of the manor is held in dower by Alice [recte Margaret], lately wife of Richard, son of Richard and Margaret, by endowment of her former husband, assigned in Chancery after his death. Stanbridge, the manor, held of the king in chief as 1/100 knight’s fee. There is a messuage with a garden, pond, and dovecot, worth 6s. 8d. yearly; 4 virgates of land, each worth 6s. 8d. yearly; 8 a. meadow that can be mown, price of each acre 8d.; a pasture lying in minute parcels, worth 5s. yearly; rent from free tenants, 25s. 8d. payable at Michaelmas and 24s. payable at Easter; the site of a windmill, worth 2d. yearly; and pleas and perquisites of court, worth 12d. yearly. Furthermore, Richard Chamberleyn , father of Richard named in the writ, by charter dated at Tilsworth on 3 June 1433, shown to the jurors, granted the manor of Tilsworth to John Beaumond, Lord Beaumont , knight , Ralph Crumwell, knight , William, Lord Lovell , Simon Felbryng , Henry Brownflet , knights, William Tresham , and William Aldewyncle , and their heirs and assigns. They were thus seised in demesne as of fee. They have continued in their estate and taken the issues in the meantime. Tilsworth, the manor, annual value 21 marks, held of the heirs of Andrew Bron, service unknown.

His father, Richard Chamberleyn, esquire , by charter dated at Mill Cotes on 27 February 1428, where he was described as Richard Chamberleyn of Mill Cotes, shown to the jurors, granted his manors of Mill Cotes, Ringstead, and Denford, and each and every of his lands, tenements, rents, and services, to John Grene , Richard Colfox , John Chamberleyn , John Gryffon , John Assheton , William Sewell , William Aldewyncle , Edward Sugwuss , John Grymbald , John Salman , John Aylysmere , William Seriaunt , and Thomas Turnour, chaplain , and their heirs and assigns. They were thus seised in demesne as of fee. John Grene , Richard Colfox , John Chamberleyn , and John Salman afterwards died, and John Gryffon , John Assheton , William Sewell , William Aldewyncle , Edward Sugwuss , John Grymbald , John Aylysmere , William Seriaunt , and Thomas Turnour continued in their estate in survivorship. Thus seised, by charter dated on 31 December 1432, shown to the jurors, John Assheton , William Sewell , Edward Sugwuss , John Grymbald , John Aylysmere , William Seriaunt , and Thomas Turnour quitclaimed the manors, for them and their heirs, to John Gryffon and William Aldewyncle , both still living. The manors were described as the manors of Mill Cotes, Ringstead, and Denford, and each and every of the lands, tenements, rents, and services that they lately had jointly with John Gryffon and William Aldewyncle by enfeoffment of Richard Chamberleyn of Mill Cotes. John and William were thus seised in demesne as of fee. They continued in their estate for all of Richard’s life, and yet so continue. Mill Cotes, the manor, annual value 60s, held of the heirs of the earl of Kent as of the fee of Bourne, service unknown. Ringstead, the manor, annual value 100s. It is not held of the king in chief, but of whom and by what service is unknown. Denford, the manor, annual value 100s., held of the earl of Stafford, service unknown.
