He held the following in demesne as of fee. Halstead, one tenement called ‘Brendhall’, annual value 5 marks, held of the king.
He died on 5 February last.343 John Warner is his son and next heir, and aged 7 and more. [Head:] Delivered to Chancery by the hand of the escheator on 11 April 1440.
The ms records the date of death as ‘Thursday after the Purification of Mary last’. The date of death given in the inquisition of 404 is also ‘Thursday after the Purification of Mary last’, but the different regnal year given for the date of the inquisition means that this translates as 4 February last (1440).

He held more lands and tenements than specified in the inquisition taken after his death and returned to Chancery. Halstead, the manor called ‘Boyes’, annual value 4 marks, held of Henry, Lord Bourchier , service unknown. He held no other nor more lands or tenements of the king, or any other, in demesne or service because he was formerly seised in demesne as of fee of the following manor and, thus seised, he granted it, long before his death, to John Warner of Great Waltham, senior, esquire, Thomas Blosseme of South Benfleet, and Thomas Cornyssh of Great Waltham, and their heirs and assigns. Paglesham and Great Stambridge, the manor called Church Hall, annual value 10 marks, held of the abbot of St Peter’s, Westminster, by fee farm.
He died on 4 February last. John Warner, junior , is his son and next heir, and aged 8 and more.
Lord Bourchier occupied the manor called ‘Boyes’ and took the issues from the time of John’s death until the day of the inquisition, title and manner unknown. [Head:] Delivered to court on 19 November 1440.
