Wanstead, a messuage with curtilage and adjacent garden, 30 a. arable, 1 1/2 a. meadow, 2 a. pasture, 1/2 a. wood, and 11s. 9d. rent, true annual value 16s. 8d., held of the king in chief by service of finding a hobeler for the king’s castle of Portchester for 8 days at time of war, at his own keeping, and paying the king 10s. yearly by the hand of the constable of the castle. [Place not given], 5 a. land, of no annual value, held of the prior of Southwick by service of 15d. yearly and 1/2lb pepper.
He died on the last day of October last. John Wanstede is his son and next heir, and aged 30 and more. [Head:] Delivered to court on 25 November.
