            <note place="bottom" xml:id="n238">The date of the assignment of dower is legible only as ‘26 February in the … regnal year of Henry VI’, but Richard Forster was escheator in Cambridgeshire 23 November 1437–6 November 1438.</note>
            <note place="bottom" xml:id="n239">There is no indication in ms that <name type="place" key="2871759">Bassingbourn</name> was where the lands and tenements assigned were located, but the assignment of dower was held at <name type="place" key="2871759">Bassingbourn</name> which, according to CIPM XXIV, no. 535, was the only manor in <name type="county" key="1415">Cambridgeshire</name> held by the duke of Bedford.</note>
            <note place="bottom" xml:id="n240">‘Hugh Barker’ and ‘Hugh Parker’ may be the same person in this inquisition.</note>
            <note place="bottom" xml:id="n241">This 1/3 rood upsets the mathematics of the statement, but it is clearly written in ms.</note>
