Hurtmore, 6s. 8d. annual rent, called ‘Wardesyluer’, taken every 24 weeks from the manor held by the prior of New Place , Guildford , of Richard as a knight’s fee and by service of the rent, payable to Richard and his heirs, parcel as above. Since Richard’s death, the rent has been taken continuously by John, archbishop of York , William Scot, esquire , and Thomas Haseley by royal letters patent [CFR 1422–30, p. 214]; and they are thus answerable to the king.
