There are 100 a. pasture, each acre worth 2d. yearly and no more; 100 a. arable, each acre worth 4d. yearly and no more; 100 a. heath, each acre worth 1/2d. yearly and no more; 8 a. meadow, each acre worth 12d. yearly and no more; 7 a. wood, each acre worth 8d. yearly and no more; a byre, worth nothing yearly; a tumble-down stable, worth nothing yearly; and a barn, worth nothing yearly. He died seised of the following in demesne as of fee. Farnborough and Bromley, a tenement, worth 4s. 10d. yearly and no more, and 100 a. pasture, each acre worth 1d. yearly and no more, held of John Squery, esquire , as of his manor of Baston, service unknown.
He died on 30 November 1412. John Squery is his son and next heir, and aged 30 years and more. John Peretplace of St Mary Cray, found at St Paul ’s Cray an earthenware pot called ‘Erthencrokke’, containing gold and silver, quantity unknown. The gold and silver came to the possession of Thomas Knovyle of St Mary Cray, and is still in his hand, for which he is answerable to the king. Date of death as 186 John Squery of Kent, esquire , is his son and next heir regarding the manor, and was aged 29 years and more on the day of the inquisition.
Robert Squery , Richard Squery , and John Typpyng , alias John Kippyng of Southwark in Surrey, grocer, took the issues of the manor from Thomas’ death until the day of the inquisition, without title of right, for which they are answerable to the king. February 1439 until Easter on 5 April following, namely, for 51 days, 11s. 4d.... 5s. yearly at farm to John Curteys , by letters patent dated on 12 March 1439, to have from 13 February last [CFR 1437–45, p. 83].
