[1]+ John Stafford, clerk , lately keeper of the king’s privy seal, Robert Hull , John Marchaunt , Peter Pole , Hugh Cary , and William Lee of Aston, were lately seised of the manor of Kilton in demesne as of fee. They granted it to John Lutrell , now deceased, and Margaret then his wife, and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to the right heirs of Hugh Lutrell, knight , John’s father. John Lutrell and Margaret were thus seised in demesne as of fee tail, and John died seised of this estate. Margaret held the manor after his death, and too died seised of this estate. John and Margaret had issue: James, a minor now in the king’s wardship.+[1] Kilton, the manor, annual value 20 marks, held of the king in chief as a barony along with the castle and borough of Dunster, the manor and hundred of Carhampton, and the manor of Minehead. She held the following in dower as 167. Dunster, 1/3 castle and borough; and Carhampton, 1/3 manor and hundred. They are held of the king in chief as parcel of the barony above. Annual value 40 marks.

Blannicombe, a messuage, worth nothing yearly; 60 a. land, each acre worth 4d. yearly; 12 a. meadow, each acre worth 12d. yearly; 20 a. pasture, each acre worth 6d. yearly; and 30 a. furze and heath, each acre worth 1d. yearly, held of Philip Courtenay, knight , as of his manor of Honiton, service unknown.
