He was seised of the following in demesne as of fee tail. Hazeleigh, the manor, held of the king in chief as 1/2 knight’s fee. There is the manorial site, worth nothing yearly; 104 a. arable, each acre worth 5d. yearly; 16 a. meadow, each acre worth 14d. yearly; 20 a. pasture, each acre worth 6d. yearly; and 60s. assize rent taken yearly from various tenants at Easter and Michaelmas equally. He was seised in demesne as of fee tail of the manor and advowson of the church of Shelley and, thus seised, he granted the manor to Robert Wille , William Rykhill , John White , and John Martyn , and their heirs. They were thus seised, and granted the manor to Thomas Legh and Alice his wife, and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to the right heirs of Thomas in fee tail. They were thus seised, and continued their estate and possession for all the life of Thomas. Thomas afterwards died; Alice survived him and is still living. Shelley, the manor, annual value 20 marks, held of the king as of his honour of Mandeville as 1/2 knight’s fee.

There is the manorial site with a ruinous hall and other ruinous buildings, constructed for the husbandry of the manor, worth nothing yearly; 200 a. land, each acre worth 2d. yearly; 60 a. pasture, each acre worth 1d. yearly; 20 a. meadow, each acre worth 12d. yearly; 20 a. wood, each acre worth 1d. yearly; £6 assize rent, payable at Easter and Michaelmas equally; and a court baron held every three weeks at the lord’s pleasure, worth nothing yearly above the steward’s fee and costs. Long before his death, by charter with a clause of guarantee, shown to the jurors, he granted an annual rent of 5 marks from the manor to Roger Legh, esquire , for the term of Roger’s life. The annual value of the manor is therefore 113s. 4d. above this rent and other burdens. He held the following in demesne as of fee. Horsell and Chertsey, 40 a. pasture, each acre worth 3d. yearly. Of whom the pasture is held, unknown.
