            and, after his death, she brought <name type="person">the king</name>’s writ of entry <hi rend="italic">cui in vita</hi> against <rs type="person">William</rs>,
                        <rs type="person">Simon</rs> etc. [as above], regarding the manors of <name type="manor" key="1246013">Shorne</name> and <name type="manor" key="3062459">Tracy</name>. The writ was addressed
            to the <name type="person">sheriff of Kent</name>, and returnable on the <date when="1421">octave of St John the Baptist 1421</date> before

                        </name> and his associates, justices of the King’s Bench. The case was adjourned
            until the following octave of Martinmas when judgement was given by the court that, by
            virtue of the writ, <rs type="person">Katherine</rs> should recover her seisin from <rs type="person">William</rs>, <rs type="person">Simon</rs> etc. [as
            above], by default of the same. <rs type="person">Katherine</rs> then proceeded against <rs type="person">William</rs>, <rs type="person">Simon</rs> etc. [as
            above] by authority of the recovery and obtained it. She was thus seised of the manors
