He was lately seised of the following manor in demesne as of fee, from which, thus seised and while of full age, by a deed of his dated on 25 June 1425, shown to the jurors, he granted Margaret, daughter of John Whatcroft , still living, a lifetime annual rent of 16 marks, payable at Michaelmas and Lady Day equally, with clause of distraint, as fully appears in the charter. By virtue of this grant, Margaret was then seised of this rent as of free tenement. He afterwards died seised of the manor in demesne as of fee. Thorpe Mandeville, the manor, held of the king in chief as a knight’s fee and by rendering 20s. yearly at Dover castle. There is a manorial site, worth nothing yearly; 51 a. arable, each acre worth 4d. yearly; an acre of meadow, worth 12d. yearly; 400 a. enclosed pasture, each acre worth 4d. yearly; 16 messuages, worth nothing yearly; 16 virgates of land, each worth 14s. yearly; 6 cottages, each worth 2s. yearly; a watermill, worth 12s. yearly; and 14s. 2 1/2d. assize rent from tenants, payable at Lady Day and Midsummer equally. He died seised of the following in demesne as of fee. Middleton Cheney, a messuage and a virgate of land, annual value 23s. 4d., held of William Harewdon , service unknown. Culworth, 1/2 virgate of land, annual value 4s., of whom held unknown.
He died on 1 June last. William Frebody , his son and next heir, is aged 10 years and more.

He was seised of the following manor in demesne as of fee tail, except for the enclosed lands called ‘le Hayefeld’ and ‘Ducheslond’. William Freman was formerly seised of it in demesne as of fee and, by the name William Freman, lord of West Bromwich , he granted the manor, exceptions excepted, by an indented charter of his dated at West Bromwich on 14 September 1424, shown to the jurors, to Alice his daughter, lately wife of William Frebody of Dudley, and the heirs of her body to hold of the chief lords of the fees. The charter described it as his manor of West Bromwich with arable lands, meadows, pastures, woods, parks, ponds, mills, waters, stanks, river-banks, wards, marriage-portions, reliefs, escheats, rents, services, reversions, liberties and all other commodities. By virtue of this, Alice was seised in demesne as of fee tail. She had issue: William Frebody named in the writ. After her death, William was seised in demesne as of fee tail, as per the grant. Thus seised he granted two separate annual rents of 40s. from the manor to Richard Frebody his brother, by deeds shown to the jurors. West Bromwich, the manor, exceptions excepted, held of Maurice Berkeley, knight , as of his castle of Weoley by knight service, quantity unknown. There is a site, worth nothing yearly; 6 tofts, worth nothing yearly; 200 a. arable, each acre worth 2d. yearly; 50 a. meadow, each acre worth 6d. yearly; 300 a. pasture, each acre worth 4d. yearly; 20 a. seasonable wood, which is worth 40s. every six years when cut; and 10 marks assize rent from tenants, payable at Michaelmas and Lady Day equally. He died seised of the following in demesne as of fee. Sandwell, advowson of the priory of St Mary Magdalene, worth nothing because filled. He held the following jointly with Margaret his wife, still living, to them and the heirs of their bodies by grant of William Suydeley of Dudley and William Taillour, as fully apparent in an indented charter of theirs, shown to the jurors. Dudley, a watermill, annual value 6s. 8d., held of John Sutton, chevalier , service unknown. Sedgley, 40 a. pasture, each acre worth 4d. yearly, held as above of John Sutton, chevalier , service unknown.. Tipton, 16 a. pasture, each acre worth 4d. yearly, held of the prior of Dudley , service unknown.
