No lands or tenements came into the king’s hand because of the death of Alice and the minority of Beatrice only. But the following lands, etc., came into the king’s hand because of the death of Alice and the minority of Elizabeth, wife of John Curteys , and of Emma, wife of John Squyry , still living, daughters and heirs of Alice, begat by Alice and Thomas Lathe, her first husband, now deceased, and of the said Beatrice, third daughter and heir of Alice, begat by Alice and John Cavendissh her last husband, likewise now deceased. Alice was seised of them in demesne as of fee. Bishop’s Lynn, a small tenement with a garden attached and a wharf (‘wherff’), annual value, with the messuage and cottages in Bishop’s Lynn below, 20s., and 20s. annual rent, held of the king in chief as 1/50 knight’s fee. Stradsett, a tenement and 8 1/2 a. land called ‘Geystestenement’, 3 a. land called ‘le Heygate’, 2 a. land, 2 a. meadow called ‘Bradmedewe’ and 3 a. enclosed wood in Kechilwode, a close called ‘Uphalleyerd’, and 16d. annual rent, true annual value ?3s. 4d., held of the king as of his honour of Wormegay for 1d. yearly. Alice was similarly seised of the following in demesne as of fee, which John Cavendissh held by curtesy after her death of the inheritance of Elizabeth, Emma and Beatrice. Afterwards, by a charter of his dated on 1 July 1428 John Cavendissh demised the following to John Curteys during John Cavendissh ’s lifetime. By virtue of this, John Curteys was seised in demesne as of free tenement and he continued in this estate until John Cavendissh ’s death on 28 September 1435. The king’s licence was not obtained for this. Bishop’s Lynn, a messuage and 6 cottages, held of the king in chief as 1/50 knight’s fee [for annual value see above]. Stradsett, Crimplesham and Fincham, 3 messuages, 40 a. land, true annual value 13s. 4d., held of the king as of his same honour by service of one clove yearly for all service. Fincham, a close called ‘Hillyngtones’, true annual value 3s., held of the heir of John, lately earl of Arundel , as of his honour of Castle Acre, service unknown.
She died on 27 June 1429. Thomas Persons is her kin and next heir, viz., son of Beatrice, sister of Alice, her mother, and is aged 40 years and more. [Foot:] son of Beatrice sister of the said Alice mother of Beatrice one of the daughters of the same Alice and John Cavendyssh.

Order to take the fealty of [1.] John Curteys , who has taken to wife Elizabeth, one of the daughters of Thomas Lathe and Alice, [2.] John Squery , who has taken to wife Emma, the second daughter of the said Thomas and Alice, and [3.] Thomas Persons , the son of Beatrice the sister of the said Alice the mother of Beatrice [third daughter and heir of Alice by John Cavendyssh ], and kin and heir of Beatrice [daughter of Alice], who died a minor in the king’s ward. Order to make a partition into three equal parts of the lands held by Alice, sometime the wife of Thomas Lathe and, subsequently, wife of John Cavendyssh , in demesne as of fee and held by John Cavendyssh by curtesy from the inheritance of Elizabeth, Emma and Beatrice after Alice’s death. John Curteys and Elizabeth, John Squery and Emma, and Thomas Persons are to be given full seisin of the purparties of Elizabeth, Emma and Thomas, respectively; homage respited until Michaelmas next for 6s. 8d. paid in the hanaper [CFR 1430–37, pp. 312–13].
