She did not hold lands or tenements of the king in chief in demesne or in service. But she held the following manor, etc., in fee tail by demise made by John Strecche, knight , to John Strecche his son and Katherine then his wife and the heirs of their bodies. Afterwards, John Strecche the son died without heirs of him and Katherine, and John Strecche, knight , who survived him, subsequently also died. The reversion of the manor, etc., after Katherine’s death descended to Elizabeth and Anne as kin and heirs of John Strecche, knight , viz., daughters of Edmund Cheyne, knight , son of Cecily, daughter of John. They are under age and in the king’s wardship. Woolston, the manor, held of Hugh Courtenay as of his manor of Stancombe in socage by 6d. rent at Michaelmas . There is a manorial site, worth nothing yearly; 200 a. arable, each acre worth 2d. yearly; 16 a. meadow, each acre worth 16d. yearly; 8 tenements, each worth 5s. yearly; and £6 assize rent, payable yearly by the tenants and heirs of Stephen Hacche at the feast of St Bartholomew the Apostle only. Malborough, 3 burgages, each worth 6d. yearly, 4 messuages, each worth 2s. yearly, a dovecot, worth 20d. yearly, 13 a. land, each acre worth 3d. yearly, and 4 a. meadow, each acre worth 20d. yearly, held, together with the messuage and land in Oldaway [below], from the heirs of William Wroghton in socage as of their manor of Wodehous by 6d. at Michaelmas. Oldaway, in the parish of West Alvington, a messuage, worth nothing yearly, and 30 a. land, each acre worth 3d. yearly, held [with the burgages, etc., in Malborough, above] of the heirs of William Wroghton in socage as of their manor of Wodehous by 6d. at Michaelmas.. Kingsbridge, a burgage, worth 4s. yearly, held of the abbot of Buckfast by rendering 4d. yearly to him and his successors at Michaelmas.
She died on 28 August last. James Lutrell is her kin and next heir, aged 12 years and more. Elizabeth was 13 years old on 2 February last and Anne was 10 years old on 15 August last.

Katherine Lutrell , lately the wife of Hugh Lutrell, knight , held the following in dower from the inheritance of James Lutrell kin and heir of Hugh, viz., son of John, son of Hugh, a minor in the king’s wardship, by endowment of the said Hugh and by assignment made by John Gregory , lately the king’s escheator in Somerset. Minehead, the manor, held, together with the castle and town of Dunster and the manors of Carhampton and Kilton, with the hundred of Carhampton, of the king as a whole barony. There is 7s. and 1 lb wax assize rent, payable by free tenants at Michaelmas only; a capital messuage, worth nothing yearly; 120 messuages, each worth 2s. yearly; a watermill, worth 40s. yearly; 6 messuages called ‘Botehouse’, each worth 8d. yearly; 7 weirs next to the tide, each worth 6d. yearly; a park, containing 150 a. pasture and wood, the pasture worth 26s. 8d. beyond the sustenance of the beasts; 20 a. wood, its pasture worth 10s. yearly; an annual fair (nundine) held at Michaelmas, worth 20d. yearly; 260 a. arable, each acre worth 16d. yearly; 20 a. meadow, each acre worth 12d. yearly; and 400 a. furze, heath and waste, each acre worth 2d. yearly. The following works are due from customary tenants: 182 manual works called ‘Churrys’, taken at any time of the year from Michaelmas to Michaelmas, each worth 1/4d., 107 autumn works, taken from the feast of St Peter in Chains to Michaelmas, each worth 1d., 15 works stacking peas, taken from and to the same feasts, each worth 1/2d., 15 works stacking hay, taken from Pentecost to Michaelmas, each worth 1/2d., 2 ploughworks from 2 customary tenants, one at the winter sowing and the other at the Lenten sowing, each worth 5d. Perquisites of court with view of frankpledge are worth 100s. yearly. She held the following manor by demise lately made by William Belmondeslond and Peter Whyta , clerks, to John Strecch, knight , for his life, with successive remainders to Katherine, for life, and John Strecch ’s right heirs, as fully contained in an indented charter dated on 31 December 1375, shown to the jurors. John Strecch died while Katherine was alive and reversion of the manor descended, with other manors, lands and tenements that were of John Strecche , to Cecily, then the wife of Thomas Bonvyle and Elizabeth, then the wife of Thomas Beauchamp, knight , as daughters and heirs of John Strecch . Partition was afterwards made between Thomas Bonvyle and Cecily and Thomas Beauchamp and Elizabeth, and reversion of the manor was allotted, together with other manors, lands and tenements, to Thomas Beauchamp and Elizabeth in Elizabeth’s purparty. Katherine held the manor for life, reversion to Alice, wife of John Speke , kin and heir of Elizabeth, viz., daughter of John, son of the said Elizabeth. Sampford Arundel, the manor, annual value £8, held of Richard, duke of York , service unknown. John Lutrell was lately seised of the following manor, with the advowson of the church, in demesne as of fee. He gave it to Maurice Russell, knight , John Poulet , son and heir of John Poulet, knight , John Venables , John Serle, clerk , and John Grove , now deceased, and William Poulet , still living, and their heirs and assigns. By virtue of this enfeoffment, Maurice, John, John, John, John and William were seised in demesne as of fee. John Lutrell afterwards died and after his death Hugh Lutrell entered upon the possession of the said Maurice, etc., and unlawfully removed them. Maurice, John, John, John and John afterwards died and William survived and entered upon the possession of the said Hugh, and demised the manor to Hugh to hold of him at his will. Hugh died thus seised, without that that he claimed or had or any other estate therein after the demise. After Hugh’s death John Gregory , then escheator, by virtue of his office assigned the manor, among other things, in dower to Katherine. William Poulet entered again upon her possession and, by a charter of his, shown to the jurors, dated at East Quantoxhead on 3 July 1431, remised it to her for life, remainder wholly to Thomas Stawell and Giles Daubeney , knights, James Lutrell , son of John Lutrell, knight , John Warre, esquire , and Walter Portman , still living, and Hugh Cary , now deceased, and the heirs of James Lutrell . By virtue of this, Katherine was seised in demesne as of free tenement, and she died thus seised. East Quantoxhead, the manor, with the advowson of the church, annual value £20, held of the heir(s) of Geoffrey Lutrell, knight , service unknown.
She died on 31 July last. James Lutrell , in the king’s wardship, is her kin and next heir, viz., son of John, son of Katherine, and is aged 9 years and more.
