He held the manor of Naburn in his demesne as of fee. In the manor there are 100 a. land and 40 a. meadow, worth £6 13s. 4d. yearly; 8 messuages, 10 cottages and 16 bovates of land, worth £6 yearly; a capital messuage with a garden, worth nothing yearly; and 8s. rent from tenements within the vill. The manor is held of Thomas, Lord Ros , a minor in the king’s wardship, by knight service of 1/3 knight’s fee, and by Lord Ros of the king in chief.
He died on 27 August last. Richard Palmes is his son and next heir, aged 10 years and more. [Dorse:] memorandum that the inquisition, the wording of which is given here, was sent to Chancery by reason of a writ of the great seal which is enrolled in the Exchequer memoranda rolls among the writs directed to the barons of Michaelmas term 12 ‪ Henry VI [1 September 1433 – 31 August 1434], roll 35.
