He held the manor of Winterborne Kingston in his demesne as of fee of the king in chief by service of 1/20 knight’s fee. In the manor there is the capital messuage, worth nothing yearly; a garden containing 4 a. land, its pasture worth 10s. 2d. yearly; 100 a. arable, worth 33s. 4d. yearly; 7 a. meadow, worth 14s. yearly; 200 a. pasture, worth 33s. 4d. yearly; 8s. 9d. assize rent, by the hands of free tenants at Christmas, Easter, Midsummer and Michaelmas equally; and 10 tenements, each containing 7 a. arable and 1/2 a. meadow, held by manorial tenants according to the customs of the manor, paying 33s. 4d. at the same feasts equally, a tenement worth 3s. 4d.
He died on 18 October last without heir of his body. Robert Sterne is his kinsman and next heir as son of Joan his sister, aged 26 years and more. [Foot:] delivered to Chancery on 5 April 1434.

He was lately seised in his demesne as of fee of the manors of Uphall, Brandon Hall and Skeyton with the advowson of Skeyton church, and the manor of Whitwell in Runhall. Described as John Gambon , son and heir of William Gambon , and by his charter dated at Brandon Parva on 7 June 1421 and shown to the jurors, he granted these, described as his manors of Uphall, Brandon Hall and Skeyton and all other lands, tenements, meadow, wood, pasture, rent, reversions and services in the vills of Runhall, Brandon Parva , Welborne, Ryfley’s (Ryskes), Coston, Carleton Forehoe , Thuxton, Mattishall, North Walsham or South Walsham and Tibenham, to John Virly, clerk , and Thomas Pasmer and their heirs and assigns. The feoffees were seised and by their charter dated at Brandon Parva on 8 June 1421 and shown to the jurors, they granted the above, described as above and including the advowson of Skeyton church, to the same John described as John Gambon , and Ellen his wife and their heirs and assigns. John and Ellen were seised and assigned the manor of Skeyton with the advowson to Thomas Mylde and Margaret his wife, lately the wife of Richard Gambon , who survives, for her life as her free dower from all Richard’s lands and tenements in Norfolk. John thus held the manors of Uphall, Brandon Hall and Whitwell in Runhall with the reversion to the manor of Skeyton and advowson jointly with Ellen, who survives. The manors of Uphall, annual value 40s., Brandon Hall ,annual value 40s., and Whitwell in Runhall, annual value 40s., are held of the heir of Lord Fitzwalter, service presently unknown. The manor of Skeyton, with the advowson, is held of Richard, duke of York , service unknown, annual value 5 marks. He was seised in his demesne as of fee of the manor of Whitwell (Whytwell iuxta Refham). By his charter dated on 6 June 1421 he granted this to the same John Virly and Thomas Pasmer and their heirs. They were seised. John Virly died and Thomas continued in his estate in right of joint tenant in survivorship during John Gambon ’s lifetime. The manor of Whitwell is held of the same Richard, service unknown, annual value 5 marks.
He died on 16 October last. Heir as in 198 except here aged 28 years and more.
