The reversion of 1/3 manor of Babington, which Elizabeth held in dower, belongs to Joan who was the wife of Thomas Broke, knight , by the following means. William Botreaux, knight , described as William de Botreaux, knight [husband of Elizabeth], by his charter dated on 19 January 1372, and shown to the jurors, granted all right in the manor to William Cheddre , William Drapere, clerk , Roger Seward and John Stanes , and their heirs and assigns, who were seised in their demesne as of fee. They enfeoffed Robert Cheddre of Bristol, senior , and the same Joan, his wife, and his heirs, who were seised, Robert in his demesne as of fee and Joan in her demesne as of free tenement. Robert died and Joan survives. William Botreaux died and 1⁄3 manor was assigned in dower to Elizabeth. The reversion of this 1⁄3 belongs after Elizabeth’s death to Joan in the above manner.
