Reynold Cokayn held no lands or tenements of the king in chief in demesne or service. He held the manor of Cockayne Hatley jointly with Beatrice his wife, who survives, for their lives with remainder to the male heirs of John Cokayn of Cockayne Hatley and Ida his wife, of the duke of Norfolk by knight service of 1/2 knight’s fee and suit to his court at Bedford every three weeks, annual value £20.
He died on 6 October last. Philip Cokayn is the son and next heir of this Reynold, son and male heir of John Cokayn of Cockayne Hatley and Ida his wife, aged 15 years and more.

John Cokayn of Cockayne Hatley, Roger Mapilton, lately vicar of Milton Ernest church , Robert Fossard, chaplain , and Richard Lyuersegge enfeoffed Reynold and Beatrice his wife, who survives, with a messuage and adjacent croft as enclosed by hedges and ditches, formerly Joan Neubery’s, within the lordship of Great Wymondley or Little Wymondley, and 4 1/2 a. land in Stevenage, to have to them and the heirs of their bodies, remainder to Beatrice’s right heirs. Reynold and Beatrice were seised in their demesne as of fee tail and continued in this estate until Reynold’s death. The messuage, croft and land are held of William Alyngton , service unknown, annual value 10s.
