Henry, bishop of Winchester , John Leventhorp , Lewis John , Robert Darcy and Richard Baynard , to whom ‪ Henry V granted custody of Thomas’ lands, to be informed [CFR 1413–22, pp. 437–8]. John Tufte , aged 60 years and more, says that Elizabeth was aged 15 years and more on 23 June last. She was born at Boreham on 23 June 1417 and baptised in the church of that vill. He knows because he espoused Agnes his wife at Chelmsford on the following 8 November, which was 15 years ago. The other jurors agree and give the following recollections of events 15 years ago. John Waleys , 61 years and more, was at Boreham at her baptism and held a burning torch. John Lyonne , 58 years and more, was at Boreham at her baptism and held a silver-plated saucer. John Peese , 53 years and more, was at Boreham at her baptism and held a silver-plated ewer. John Schobury , 54 years and more, says John Booreham of Boreham had John his son baptised in the font on 24 June 1417 and John Schobury was the godfather. Thomas Heygate , 64 years and more, was at Boreham that day and drove his cart loaded with hay from the demesne meadow of the manor of Newhall in the same parish, to the manor’s grange. He fell from the laden cart in the grange and broke his right arm. John Huchon , 66 years and more, on 24 June 1417 at Boreham espoused Ellen, now his wife, then servant to Margaret, grandmother of Elizabeth. Robert Smyth of Sandon, 62 years and more, says Geoffrey his son was ordained a deacon that day in London by the bishop of London . Also given as ‘Thomas’: it was 15 years since the same Thomas married Ellen. Thomas Tenderyng , 58 years and more, says Richard Synove of Boreham hanged himself at Colchester on the Monday after the following Trinity Sunday. Edmund Peese , 53 years and more, says Walter Halybred, clerk , was inducted and instituted as vicar of the parish church at Boreham on the eve of Trinity Sunday 1417, and baptised Edmund Pese his son in the font. William Fanner , 49 years and more, says Thomas Coggeshale , Elizabeth’s father, by his charter sealed with his armorial seal and dated on 24 June 1417, granted a holding in Boreham to Henry Netlee , his neif, as is clear in the charter shown in evidence. William Parker , 56 years and more, and Joan his wife were at Boreham at the time Joan, mother of Elizabeth gave birth to her, namely on 10 June 1417.
