John Braham was seised of the following in demesne as of fee, held of Richard, duke of York, as of the honour of his castle of Clare in the custody of the king, service unknown. Braham, the manor with appurtenances in Braham, East Bergholt, and Lawford, annual value £10. Boyton Hall, the manor with appurtenances in Capel St Mary and Great Wenham, annual value 10 marks. He granted the manor of Braham with its appurtenances to Robert Teye , Richard Spyce , Roger Spyce , John Sampson , John Tavener , esquires, and Richard Skarf and John Fray , clerks, and to their heirs and assigns in perpetuity. He bound himself and his heirs to guarantee etc. [in ms]. The grant was made by charter dated Braham 4 February 1420, shown to the jurors. Robert Teye , Richard, Roger, John Sampson , John Tavener , Richard, and John Fray were thus seised of the manor. He granted the manor of Boyton Hall with its appurtenances to Robert Teye , Richard Spyce , Roger Spyce , John Sampson , esquires, Richard Skarf , John Fray , clerks, and William Mopetyd , and to their heirs and assigns in perpetuity. He bound himself and his heirs to guarantee etc. [in ms]. The grant was made by charter dated Capel St Mary 2 February 1420, shown to the jurors. Robert, Richard, Roger, John, Richard, John, and William were thus seised of the manor. All the tenants of the manor of Braham as well as of the manor of Boyton Hall attorned to them. Robert Teye , Richard Spyce , Roger Spyce , John Sampson , John Tavener , Richard Skarf , and John Fray granted the manor of Braham with its appurtenances to John Braham, knight , and Lady Joan his wife, for their lives. After their deaths, the manor is to be held by their executors until the Michaelmas next following, and then from that feast to the Michaelmas next following. The grant was made by indented deed dated Braham 12 February 1420, shown to the jurors. Robert Teye , Richard Spyce , Roger Spyce , John Sampson , Richard Skarf , John Fray , and William Mopetyd granted the manor of Boyton Hall with its appurtenances to John Braham, knight , and Joan his wife, for their lives. The grant continues on the same terms as the one above, and was made by another indented deed also shown to the jurors. John and Joan were thus seised of the manors in free tenement, with reversion to Robert Teye and his co-feoffees. John died. Joan was still living and continued in her estate for life and died so seised.
She died on 20 May last. Margaret wife of William Lampet and Margaret wife of Thomas Mosell are her daughters and next heirs. Each is aged 30 and more.
