[Wymbyssh].G Joan was daughter and heir of William Wyncelawe son of Mary, lately wife of John Wyncelawe and daughter of William Croucheman son of William Croucheman , and kin and heir of William Croucheman , father, who held by knight service of Joan, daughter and heir of William Welles and lately a minor in the wardship of ‪Edward III. William Wyncelawe died a minor in the wardship of ‪Henry V. Inquire after the lands and tenements that came to the hands of Edward owing to the death of William Croucheman , father, and the minority of William Wyncelawe , and are still in the king’s hands.

Jurors: Robert Betrych ; John Love ; Richard Walschef ; John Pyg ; William Smyth ; John Waryn ; Thomas Broke ; Thomas Osbern ; Thomas Langrych ; Thomas Helder ; John Westbury ; and Andrew Bright .
No lands or tenements came to the hands of Edward nor are still in the king’s hands owing to the death of William Croucheman and the minority of William Wyncelawe . But, owing to the death of William Croucheman , father, and the minority of William son and heir of William Croucheman, 154 a. arable, 4 a. meadow, 1 a. pasture, 3½ a. wood, and 12d. rent in Great Sampford, annual value 10s. 9d., held by William Croucheman , father, of Joan daughter and heir of William Welles by knight service as of the manor of Great Sampford, came to the hands of Edward and are still in the king’s hands. They are now held of John Ryple and Margaret his wife in right of Margaret by knight service.
William Croucheman died on 20 June 1351. William his son and heir was then a minor and Edward was thus seised of custody of the lands and tenements with the body of William. In the same year (25 Edward III), when she came of age, Joan [Welles] afterwards sued for livery of the manor, among other things, from the hands of ‪ Edward III with Henry Coggessale , then her husband, and they were delivered of this from Chancery. William Croucheman , son, afterwards died before suing for livery of his lands and tenements from the hands of ‪ Edward III . They descended to Mary his daughter and heir, who also died before suing for livery. They descended to William Wyncelawe son and heir of Mary, who also died before suing for livery. They descended to Joan his daughter and heir, who also died before suing for livery. They descended to Walter Huntyngdon , her kin and heir as the son of John Huntyngdon son of Elizabeth sister of William Croucheman, junior , father of Mary mother of William Wyncelawe father of Joan. Walter still lives and is aged 24 and more.
She died on 20 July 1426. Walter is her next heir.
