John Rothenhale, chevalier , held in demesne as of fee the manor of Polsted Hall alias Polsted Hall in Burnham, true annual value 24 marks. Owing to his death and the minority of Thomas his son and heir, the manor was taken into the hands of ‪Henry V because it is held in chief of the king by knight service. After the death of Thomas, Henry V granted the manor to his knight, Lewis Robessart , to have for life from the time of the death of John Rothenhale . The grant was made on 8 August 1420. Lewis died seised of this estate on 26 November last, and the escheator took the manor into the king’s hands.
