              The late earl was thus seised of the manor in demesne as of free tenement, and was so seised for life. <name type="person" key="1822056">Richard</name> entered the manor after the death of <rs type="person">the earl</rs> and, from it, assigned reasonable dower to <name type="person" role="dowager" key="1882879"><name type="forename">Anne</name>, <name type="role">countess of Devon</name></name>.
