He gave the manor to John Strecche, chevalier , and Maud his wife, and to the heirs of their bodies. They had issue: Cecily. John died then Maud, and Cecily entered the manor as their daughter and heir. She married William Cheyne, knight , and they had issue: Edmund. Edmund had issue of his body: Elizabeth, Anne, and Cecily. Edmund died, and Cecily was still seised of the manor as above. After her death, the manor descended to Elizabeth, Anne, and Cecily, her kin and heirs as the daughters of Edmund her son. John Radeston , John Raynald, parson of Lymington , Henry Andreu, parson of Leweston , Roger Carter, parson of Wootton Fitzpaine , John Passewar, parson of Over Compton, John Humfre, vicar of Chewton Mendip , Nicholas Yve of West Kington, Andrew Ridon , William Walsh , John Preste , William Longe of Axminster, Henry Wotton , Thomas Brokhampton , Thomas Saundre , and William Lange , were lately seised in demesne as of fee of the following manor, which they lately had of the enfeoffment of Lord William de Monte Acuto, earl of Salisbury , and William Boneville, knight . Thurlbear, the manor, held of the king in chief as ¼ knight’s fee. There is the site, worth nothing yearly; 500 a. arable, each acre worth 3d. yearly; 46 a. meadow, each acre worth 16d.; 120 a. wood, its pasture worth 10s. yearly; 14s. assize rent, taken from tenants-at-will at the four principal terms of the year by equal parts; and perquisites of court, worth 6s. 8d. yearly. They granted it to William Boneville and Margaret his wife for their lives, or either one in survivorship, to hold of the king and his heirs by due service, with successive remainders to Thomas their son and Cecily his wife [widow of William Cheyne], and to the heirs male of the body of Thomas; and to the right heirs of William Boneville . The grant was made by indented charter dated 29 August 1392. The king’s licence was obtained, as shown to the jurors [CPR 1391–1396, p. 54]. William afterwards died, then Margaret, and Thomas their son and Cecily entered the manor. Thomas afterwards died without heir male of his body by Cecily. She survived him and continued her possession in the manor. She died so seised and the manor descended to William Boneville, knight , son of John Boneville , kin and heir of William Boneville, knight , as son of John son and heir of William Boneville, knight . ... of age 36 years and more...Much of the following is taken from CFR 1430–1437, p. 32.

She died on 18 October last. Elizabeth, Anne, and Cecily, daughters of Edmund her son, are her kin and next heirs, and respectively aged 7, 5 and 2 years.

Pinhoe, the manor, held of Thomas Courtenay, earl of Devon , a minor in the wardship of the king, held in socage by rent of three arrows yearly for all services. She granted it to John Cheyne , her son, and to his heirs and assigns in perpetuity, to hold by rendering £25 sterling yearly to Cecily for her life at the four usual terms of the year.
