   The grant was made by charter dated <date type="grant" when="1419-10-09">9 October 1419</date> in which he was described as Edward Cerne, esquire, and the manors, lands etc. were described as his manors of <name type="manor">Higher Melcombe</name>, <hi rend="italic"><name type="manor">Westmyngton</name></hi>, and <name type="manor">Sitterton</name>, and all his lands and tenements, rents, services, and reversions in <name type="place" key="507859">Higher Melcombe</name>, <hi rend="italic"><name type="place" key="2923049">Westmyngton</name></hi>, <name type="place" key="665297">Sitterton</name>, <name type="place" key="635381">Rushton</name>, <name type="place" key="1756197">West Hall</name> in the parish of <name type="parish" key="288077">Folke</name>, <name type="place" key="133022">Buckhorn Weston</name>, and <name type="place" key="815063">Whitchurch Canonicorum</name> <hi rend="italic">or</hi> <name type="place" key="831859">Winterborne Whitechurch</name> (<hi rend="italic">Whitchurche</hi>), with the rents and services of Robert Latymer, Nicholas Latymer, and William Pope and their heirs for lands and tenements held severally in fee of <rs type="person">Edward</rs> in <name type="place" key="815063">Whitchurch Canonicorum</name> <hi rend="italic">or</hi> <name type="place" key="831859">Winterborne Whitechurch</name> (<hi rend="italic">Whitchurche</hi>). <rs type="shownJurors">The charter was shown to the jurors.</rs>

           <rs type="person">Edward</rs> afterwards died, and <grant><name type="person">John</name>, <name type="person">Robert</name> etc. thus granted <grantItem><ref target="#CIPM-HLDGRP-23-499-1">the above</ref></grantItem> to <name type="person" role="grantee" key="1865797">Isabel</name> for <estate type="life">life</estate>, to hold of <rs type="person">the chief</rs> lords of those fees by due service, with remainder to <estateRemainder type="fs"><name type="person" role="remainderman" key="1865855">Richard</name> son and heir of <rs type="person">Edward</rs>, and to his heirs, to hold as above in perpetuity</estateRemainder>. The re-enfeoffment was made by indented deed dated <date type="grant" when="1419-12-31">31 December 1419</date>, <rs type="shownJurors">shown to the jurors</rs>. <rs type="person">Isabel</rs> was seised in demesne as of free tenement and is still so seised. <rs type="attornment" subtype="yes">
