Jurors:Jurors returned by the sheriff upon direction by the escheator, according to the statute: William Morton ; William Tybemham ; Thomas Hat ; John Peuterer ; William Stork ; William Chetell ; John Mercer ; Robert Chaundeler ; William Whatyngden ; John Rycard ; John Bawdewyn ; and John Smyth .
He held no lands or tenements of the king in chief or any other in demesne or service, but was lately seised of the following in demesne as of fee. Iwerne Stepleton, the manor, annual value 76s. 10d., held of the heir of John Lutrell as of his castle of Dunster as 1/20 knight’s fee. Fontmell Parva, the manor, annual value 40s., held of John Latymer, esquire , service unknown. Child Okeford, 12 a. meadow and 2 a. pasture, annual value 6s. 8d., held of Joan who was wife of Thomas Brook, knight , service unknown. By his charter dated 9 February 1422 and shown to the jurors, he granted the above, described as his manors of Iwerne Stepleton and Fontmell Parva with all their lands and tenements, rents, services, and reversions, with appurtenances in Iwerne Stepleton, Fontmell Parva, and Child Okeford, to Robert Canon , John Beclees , and to Thomas Lyster, clerk , and to their heirs and assigns, to hold of the chief lords of those fees by due service in perpetuity. John afterwards died, and Robert and Thomas, still living, are seised in demesne as of fee of the above manors, meadow, and pasture.
He died on 2 September last. William Daccombe , his son and next heir, is aged 21 and more.
