By a fine levied at Westminster on the octave of St John the Baptist 1407 [CP 25/1/51/54 no. 34], Robert Pounchardon , quer., granted one messuage, 120 a. land, 30 a. meadow, 15 a. wood, and 80 a. pasture in Mappowder, and the advowson of the church there, to Hugh Pounchardon and Lucy his wife, deforc., to hold of the chief lords of that fee by due service for their lives, with remainder wholly to John and Robert, their sons, for their lives. After the death of John and Robert, the tenement and advowson should remain, successively, to Robert Archour , son of Lucy, and to the heirs of his body in perpetuity; and to the right heirs of Lucy. This appears in the part of the fine shown to the jurors. Hugh and Lucy were seised of the tenement in demesne as of free tenement, and seised of the advowson as of fee and by right. Lucy died, as did Robert son of Hugh and Lucy. Robert Archour , son of Lucy, died without heir of his body. Hugh, surviving them, occupied the tenement and took its issues for life from the time that the fine was levied. He died seised of the tenement in demesne as of free tenement, and of the advowson as of fee and by right. John son and heir of Lucy entered the tenement in remainder as her right heir. He was seised of it in demesne as of fee, and held it of Edmund, late earl of March , as of his manor of Cranborne. He was seised of the advowson as of fee and by right. John occupied the tenement and took its issues until 10 December 1427 when, by charter, he granted the tenement and advowson to Humphrey Stafford, knight , still living, and to his heirs and assigns in perpetuity. The charter was shown to the jurors. Humphrey is still seised of the tenement in demesne as of fee and of the advowson as of fee and by right. Lucy had no estate in the tenement and advowson other than that by the fine. The annual value of the tenement and advowson is 100s., and they are held of Richard, duke of York , heir of the late earl, as of his manor of Cranborne, service unknown.
She died on 24 November 1424. John is her son and next heir, and was aged 40 and more when she died. He is now aged 45 and more.

With reference to Reynold Fitzpeers who held by knight service of the heir of Edward, late duke of York , who held of ‪ Henry V in chief. The heir is a minor in the king’s wardship. Inquire, as diem clausit extremum, what lands and tenements Lucy held of the heir and who has occupied them since her death. Inform the sheriff.
