The following came to the hands of
Richard
II
and is still in the king’s hands owing to the death of

Avenell
and the minority of Robert.
Crux Easton, the manor, annual value 10 marks, with advowson of the church there, held of the heir of
John
de
Lisle
, as of his manor of Chute by knight service, namely, by homage with fealty, scutage, and the provision of one pair of spurs at
Michaelmas
. There are 200 a. arable, 100 a. of which may be sown yearly, each sown acre worth 6d. yearly, and each unsown acre worth 2d. yearly; 6 a. meadow, each acre worth 40d. yearly; various tenants who render 30s. at Michaelmas; 200 a. pasture, worth 13s. 4d. yearly; and 10 a. wood, worth 3s.
4d. yearly.
Chute, four assarted parcels in the forest called ‘Welham’, ‘Medmeham’, ‘Myddelton’, and ‘Angrys’, annual value 10s. 8½d. and no more, held of
Richard
II
by rendering the said
10s. 8½d. yearly at the Exchequer, delivered by the sheriff.
He held the above in demesne as of fee.
He died on 6 July 1387. The identity of his next heir is unknown.
