He held no lands or tenements of the king in chief in his demesne as of fee or in service or of another. Long after he was of full age and by his indented deed dated 6 February 1426, he demised the manor of Mark Hall in Latton, together with all the other manors, lands and tenements in Rawreth, Rayleigh, Hockley, Thundersley, South Fambridge, Prittlewell, Milton, Southchurch, Leigh, Ashingdon, Goldhanger and Standon in Essex and Hertfordshire to William Rokesburgh for seven full years from Easter 1426. William Rokesburgh occupied and tilled the manor of Mark Hall and all William Baude ’s other manors, lands and tenements. By his deed dated 14 September 1426 and shown to the jurors, William Baude remised and relaxed all right and claim that he had in the above to William Rokesburgh , his heirs and assigns, and bound himself and his heirs to warrant the manors, lands and tenements to William Rokesburgh , his heirs and assigns, as is apparent in the deed. William Rokesburgh was seised in his demesne as of fee, and he demised and confirmed the manor of Mark Hall in Latton to John Tirell , Thomas Rolf , John Doreward , Richard Baynard , Lewis Johan , Robert Darcy , Andrew Michell , John Basset of Great Chishill or Little Chishill and William Gatton , and their heirs and assigns. The manor of Mark Hall is held of the king in chief of the honour of Boulogne by 1/4 knight’s fee. Whether or not royal licence was obtained is unknown presently. In the manor there are the site containing 2 a. land, worth nothing yearly; 5 derelict houses, worth nothing yearly; 160 a. arable, each acre worth 3d. yearly; 12 a. meadow fit to mow, each acre worth 12d. yearly; 20 a. pasture, each acre worth 6d. yearly; 20 a. wood, worth nothing yearly because the wood cannot be cut without waste, being only large trees; 100s. assize rents by the hands of tenants at Easter and Michaelmas in equal portions; and a fair always held at the feast of the Decollation, worth 2s. yearly.
He died on 21 September last. Thomas Baude his uncle as brother of John Baude his father, is his next heir, aged 60 years and more.
